The deputy for economic affairs coordination of Kermanshah governorate said: “Kermanshah is the main source of natural bitumen resources in the country.”
In the opening ceremony of a knowledge-based company in the field of natural bitumen processing, which was held in the presence of the president of the Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research and a group of university officials and professors of Kermanshah province, Vahid Mohammadi expressed his appreciation and thanks to the knowledge-based units of the province, stating: “Considering the prevailing conditions in the last few years, we have clearly witnessed the gaps in the field of knowledge-based companies, science and industrialization of science in the country.”
He added: “From the past until now, the Supreme Leader has repeatedly issued warnings regarding knowledge-based companies and the industrialization of science, but the country’s government officials did not enter this field until the time it was needed, and with the emergence of sanctions, which was a blessing in disguise, the activities of this field were given more attention.”
The deputy for economic affairs coordination of Kermanshah governorate stated: “Our country has been suffering from an economic disease called the petroleum economy since the time of the Qajar rule, and no serious measures had been taken to eliminate this disease, but today, according to the needs and relying on the capabilities of the scientific and industrial field, we entered this field.”
Emphasizing the role of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research in the growth and prosperity of science and knowledge-based companies, Mohammadi said: “The Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research has done a good job within a short period of its activity in the field of science production, supporting knowledge-based companies and meeting the main needs of the country.”
He continued: “For many years, Kermanshah has 90% of natural bitumen resources, but we did not benefit from a simple processing in this field, but today, with the efforts in the field of science and industry and the support of capable people and knowledge-based companies by the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, we have witnessed several processings of natural bitumen.”
Stating that the use of natural bitumen resources in the province has a wide capacity for improvement, the deputy for economic affairs coordination of Kermanshah governorate said: “This product needs to be processed in the province as the largest source of natural bitumen in the country, but the establishment of the first processing company is a remarkable and praiseworthy act.”
Mohammadi stated: “The more we pay attention to the achievements of unused resources and capacities in Kermanshah province, the more profit we could gain for the country, but it should be noted that this profitability and development requires more support from the country’s officials.”
Referring to the bright future and economic openings in the country, he reminded: “The government has created the ground for the use of infrastructure in order to overcome the existing situations, and it has provided the conditions for the defeat of sanctions and creation of a new economy so that we can take effective steps in the path of developing production sectors.”
The deputy for economic affairs coordination of Kermanshah governorate stated: “The establishment of companies and processing units, and scientific achievements, though small, are good and hopeful starting points, and like a value chain, they need other value chains in other dimensions of science and technology to expand and grow further.”
Mohammadi stated: “The Science and Technology Park of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research should be made more active and at the national level, considering the good capacities of Kermanshah, this province should be given more attention especially because it is both capable and oppressed.”
He clarified: “Kermanshah province has witnessed war for years due to its border location and has lagged behind some developments, but despite this, it enjoys hardworking and talented human resources, and existing capacities including mines, productions, commercial and industrial potentials, good opportunities, etc., which emphasizes taking a special view of this province.”
The deputy for economic affairs coordination of Kermanshah governorate said: “Kermanshah province is a “regional hub” thanks to its geographical location and human resources, and if its capacities are looked at in all aspects, including academic, it will ultimately lead to benefits in the country. As the capacities are more strengthened, we will witness the return of more benefits to the country.”
Emphasizing on preserving the honor of the people of Iran and the need to create favorable conditions to preserve this honor, Mohammadi added: “This honor and pride has been created by the measures of the Supreme Leader and despite the imposed sanctions, the resistance of the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is well-known in the world and the region, because no country can resist such economic sanctions and pressures.”
